OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of the Horticultural Service Technician is to maintain a high level of indoor tropical plant care at Anything Groes client accounts throughout Louisville Metro, Lexington, and Southern Indiana. Our technicians service a structured route of accounts, visiting each account on a regular basis (typically once a week). As a Horticultural Service Technician, you will drive to each client’s location on a preset route and service the account within the allotted time for each account. Our technicians are responsible for maintaining clean, healthy, and attractive plants, through proper watering, fertilizing, pruning, and dusting. In addition, you are responsible for building strong client relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Tropical Plant care: Water, prune, clean, fertilize, and troubleshoot and spot-treat pests/diseases for plants at customer locations to ensure plants maintain the highest level of health and aesthetic appearance.
• Provide outstanding customer service by maintaining professional communication, a neat appearance and adhering to the AG dress code.
• Complete daily route within budgeted time.
• Ensure customer site is kept clean.
• Facilitate and document small-scale plant replacements and communicate need for larger plant replacements to Manager of Horticultural Services.
• Takes personal accountability for representing the values and company appropriately in all situations (service, dress code, interpersonal skills).
• Promotes a positive work environment through an inclusive and respectful approach.

• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1+ years of Horticultural knowledge or experience preferred.
• An educational background in plant science, Interiorscape, horticulture, and/or environmental sciences is encouraged. Experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
• A strong desire to care for and learn about tropical plants.
• Ability to regularly walk, bend, kneel, and carry 30-50 lbs.
• A friendly, outgoing personality, with excellent communication and customer service skills. A professional attitude and the ability to interact with a variety of clients.
• Detail oriented, problem-solving, mature, and responsible individuals, who work well independently are ideal candidates.
• Strong time management skills are essential.
• Scheduling is flexible and based on business needs. Accounts are serviced Monday-Fridaybetween 8am and 5pm. Some Saturday work may be required. Routes are preset and typically last 6+ hrs.
• We offer paid training and equipment to service plants.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Mileage is reimbursed.
